Zambia has become a victim of a conspiracy which has unsettled its peaceful operations and has tormented the progress of the nation. Just when good news such as FBZ’s takeover and development of bio plant in Luapula Plant were giving Zambians a hope to see a bright future, the Italian Mafias have come up with a plan of their own to ensure that the merry atmosphere gets overshadowed by their dark activities. Since December 2015, all activities of the Portland Cement Zambia has come to a halt and the factory is no longer in ‘Operating’ mode. To make the matter worse, it has been reported that the properties of factory are now being sold to dummy companies at a throw away price.
Let’s track the list of events in the Portland Cement Zambia which has taken place in the past 20 months. In September 2014, reports suggest that Portland Cement Zambia has shown a remarkable progress and would easily achieve its forecasted output. By December 2014, the reports show an excess production of 1, 00, 000 tonnes of cement and the factory registers super profits. However, in April 2015, the factory gets looted by the Ventriglias through hired goons and Finsbury Investments losses its control over the company. As the year rolls, many workers are fired for reasons unacceptable and there is a constant drop in the revenue of the factory. By November 2015, it had become clear that the factory has ran into losses.
To add insult to the misery, it has been learnt that about 43 trucks of the factory have now been sold to Miloto Transport, a fake company created by the Mafias. The real estate properties of the factory have aslo been transferred to another company- Astrea Investments, another sham created by the Mafias. So the questions is: for how long will the name of Portland Cement Zambia exist now?
