A factory which had once flourished with maximized output is now running into losses and terminating existing employees on account of being redundant. The news which has shocked Africa is that 47 employees have lost their job at the premise of ZPC.

Ever since the minority shareholders of the factory, the Ventriglia family took over the operations of Portland Cement Zambia, there has been a constant loot of funds and employee abuse. Improper working conditions and poor hygiene facilities has left the workers in a state of depression where they have lost all hopes of receiving better working conditions and monthly remuneration. Internal sources are suggesting that approximately 53 more employees are likely to face similar termination very soon.

It is a well-known fact that big concerns often take the decision to terminate or recruit employees through consulting the Labour Union. However, this time around Portland Cement Zambia operated in a typical mafia style. The decision was taken and the employees were handed over their termination letter without being given any opportunity to be heard.

It is evident that the absence of Dr. Rajan Mahtani is hurting Portland Cement Zambia in the worst way. The rules have changed, the fate of existing workers has been sealed and all that they can pray for is Finsbury Investments’ win over the Ventriglia Family under the pending case. In December 2014, this same factory had broken records and produced a surplus of 1, 00, 000 tonnes of cement along with making super profits. But, with time the resources of the factory has been looted and has been reduced to a weak structure of struggle. The matter has been brought to notice, but no orders have been passed in such respect.

Portland Cement Zambia to get US $ 40 million from the Ventriglias

On August 13 2015, the High Court has passed an order where Portland Cement Zambia has been entitled to receive US $ 40 million from its minority shareholders, the Ventriglia family. The judgement was passed after taking into account the level of cash embezzlement, which took place in between 2009-2012, when the Ventriglia family took over the factory through illegal means.

Internal sources are offering confirmed reports that the cash embezzlement took place by way of facilitating offshore transfers and funding political parties during election campaigns. Additionally, it is also being regarded that heavy fund usage was made while hiring a handwriting expert from South Africa during a claim against the former Finance Bank Chairman, Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Portland Cement Zambia has been facing a contrast drain of resources ever since the Ventriglia family got its deportation order lifted and took over the factory in April 2015.

In the present case, the Ventriglia family is liable to pay US $ 40 million to the Portland Cement Zambia which they had previously looted from the factory. Additionally, they will also be liable to pay the charges for various damages.

Victory for Mahtani Group of Companies in Malawi

The Mahtani Group of Companies has added one more victory to its name by winning a case in Malawi against the Nyasa Times. The Civil case cause no. 570 of 2015 was presented to the High Court of Malawi on 28 July 2015, where the judge passed a judgement based on evidences and facts that the case required. On hearing the complete case, it was declared that Nyasa Times would remove all defamatory content in the name of Dr. Rajan Mahtani from its website and pay him a certain amount as compensating charges for defamation.

Experts are also suggesting that this event is an indirect approach by Zambia Reports, who are currently causing havoc in Zambia with their fabricated stories. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has already filed numerous criminal charges on ZR and some cases are still pending. It is only a matter of month before which the conspiracy against Dr. Mahtani will come to a complete halt.

A legal action against the malicious attempt of the Zambia Reports was expected by all and this time around Dr. Rajan Mahtani did take a legal action and has directly reached the head office of GoDaddy to ensure that internet is not misused to fulfil objectives such as defamation and spreading hatred. Zambia Reports is operated by Sakwiba Sikota in Zambia and everyone is aware of the nature that he possess. All that matters for him is money and apart from being a loyalist to the Italian Mafias, he is also a puppet to Henry Banda.

The article claims that their personal source has informed them that the Chairman of Mahtani Group of Companies, Dr. Rajan Mahtani had tried to bribe the Government officials with USD $ 1 million in return for his passport which was taken away from him.

As a matter of fact, the articles surfaced just two days after Dr. Mahtani had filed an application with the Zambian High Court under cause no. 2015/HP/1093 against the Inspector General of Police and DPP. A noticeable factor in this action is that Dr. Mahtani has filed this application against the aforesaid parties because they had violated Article 12 and 22 Zambian Constitution. So, for an educated person like Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, it is not difficult to get his passport back through the right resources. Moreover, paying a sum like USD $ 1 million is almost insanity as the amount is mammoth.

To add further, Zambia Reports also mentioned that the medical reports which were produced as an evidence that Dr. Mahtani was ill are also fake. It is sad to realize how people and their thinking can change with time and greed for money. It is absolutely shameful on the part of Zambia Reports to publish such malicious article and defame an eminent personality just for the sake of money.

There have been countless number of attacks on Dr. Rajan Mahtani through the media and Zambia Reports has actively participated in the defamation campaign. Therefore, the question which remains to be answered is whether the government of Zambia will continue to Ventriglias to dominate the scenario with their corruption or will Dr. Rajan Mahtani find a helping hand to restore Portland Cement Zambia’s lost glory.
