Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has been in the part of the headlines for the past one month, thanks to the infamous arrest, which presented a gleam view of the conspirator’s power to influence the legal system of Africa through the aid of bribery. On June 2 2015, Zambia witnessed one of the most shameful incidents as Dr. Rajan Mahtani was arrested on account of a case which dated back to 2012.
The case which was brought ‘back from the grave’ was in respect of forgery and moreover, the Attorney-General had closed the same in 2012 itself. Failing to recognize the dignity of law, the conspirators funded the officials and made a desperate attempt to put Dr. Mahtani behind the bars.
However, on June 25 2015, the Lusaka High Court Judge, Mwiinde Siavwapa made a decision in favour of the accused and thus, a judicial review was vested in the hands of the former Finance Bank Chairman. A Complete discussion with regard to the judgement can be found here.
