The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards are among the most prestigious and notable awards in Africa. The awards are presented by Forbes in collaboration with FIN (Foreign Investment Network) and the awards are presented to the leading lights within the field of business, philanthropy, innovation and leadership. In the year 2022, the award ceremony was held in the Demographic Republic of Congo (DRC). However, the last year’s Forbes awards were held virtually, and members participated from their respective locations. The event was broadcasted across the globe via YouTube medium. In the year 2021, noted businessman and philanthropist Dr. Rajan Mahtani was presented with one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted businessman and philanthropist with several successful businesses and philanthropic contributions. For his significant contributions towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award in 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani accepted this award gracefully, thanking almighty God as well as the event members and organizations for their support.
Forbes awards are extremely prestigious and recognises the significant contributions made by leading politicians, innovators and leaders across Africa. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, apart from his significant contributions to the banking sector, was also recognized for his philanthropic contributions. One of these contributions has been Prison Fellowship Zambia (PFZ), a noted Christian Outreach Program with the objective of providing fundamental human rights, basic human dignity as well as transparent criminal justice to prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families in Zambia. At the same time, the major objective of Prison Fellowship is transforming the prisoners by bringing them closer to Almighty God with his learnings and teachings.
