After several years, these contributions by Dr. Rajan Mahtani were finally recognized at an international level, by an international brand. This brand was Forbes, and the international platform was Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. It is one of the most famous philanthropy and leadership awards across entire Africa. Analysts, entrepreneurs, and businesses wait eagerly for this award as it also helps in highlighting the contributions made by visionaries towards African empowerment.
The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards was a part of the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. It is a conference that is held annually in New York and the focus is identifying philanthropic achievements and opportunities towards empowerment of the African nation. This year’s roundtable conference was held online and members participated from their respective locations. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also a member and was invited to this conference as an honorary speaker. Dr. Mahtani discussed the significance of political leadership in healthcare. Similarly, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was conferred with one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards during the ceremony. Forbes recognized the significant contributions made by Dr. Mahtani over the past several decades, especially towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia. As such, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award in 2021.
Dr. Mahtani received this award for not only redefining the Zambian banking sector but also for his numerous business and philanthropic contributions. Some of his major philanthropic contributions are Prison Fellowship Zambia as well as the Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
