The Presidential Election results in Zambia is due on January 20, 2015. With just a few days to go, the conspirators have found a way to drag Dr. Rajan Mahtani into one more controversy that talks about demolition of Mahtani Empire. As per the published articles, infamous Zambian news portal is highlighting that Dr. Mahtani’s empire is at stake on the result date and if his party fails to occupy the President’s seat then it would be the end of Dr. Mahtani’s business.
With a view to defame Dr. Rajan Mahtani, the article talked about how Dr. Mahtani has evaded taxes and accumulated unaccounted wealth from Zambia. However, none of this information is either accurate or true. The intent of the article constantly moves around defaming Dr. Mahtani and Mahtani Group of Companies.
From the perspective of a layman, it is evident that there is no connection between and politics. The former is a businessman and is only interested in discovering new opportunities to develop his bank and Zambia. Being least interested in politics, he has always kept himself aloof from any political party and has believed in working hard for the success of his motherland.
The year 2014 witnessed some of the most shameful allegations on Dr. Rajan Mahtani and from the current flow of 2015 the present year looks no different. It will be interesting to watch the reaction of Dr. Mahtani this time because he has already warned the conspirators earlier.
**Update**
On June 2 2015, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was put behind the bars through a conspiracy which involved the Ventriglia family, Sakwiba Sikota and Rupiah Banda. However, on June 25 2015, the Lusaka High Court came to his rescue and granted him a judicial review.
